SKYLAR // TEENAGE CULTURE LYRIC VIDEO

After working with SKYLAR on the set of her music video, Polydor asked if I could make the Lyric Video for the single, so we could keep in with the feel of the content I had made surrounding the single.

This entire video was created by hand with a real diary and handmade decoration using craft pieces, doodles, and printed photos from the shoot. I wanted to keep the diary alive as we flick through it in the video so I used stop frame animation to allow doodles to evolve, lyrics to appear, and photos to move.

I encountered my biggest set back to date while making this video when I lost all the animation images beyond the first chorus after an import error. So beyond the first chorus this video was actually digitally animated, recreating the real life animations I had lost in Photoshop. It was extremely time consuming but the team were really happy with the result and it’s still the most complex asset I’ve made.

In the end, this video was never released in the end as the label decided it didn’t fit into their release timeline.
