SKYLAR Teenage Culture // MTV BTS & Stills
Teenage Culture is 17-year-old SKYLAR’s first single released by Polydor, the music video, directed by Harry Deadman, was recorded on film and followed SKYLAR’s friends during a day at school. It was inspired by the poppy bright aesthetic of ‘Sex Education’ and I made sure the BTS video for MTV UK followed that atmosphere.
I used multuple cameras to record this shoot and layered them on top of each other along with school-girl style doodles and scribbles. The subtitles were also designed to mimic Tik Tok titling as the track first took off on the app.
I also made some additional content from the shoot to contninue to build the world around SKYLAR and her school friends. Below you can see a ‘character intro’ edit for social media as well as an interview with all the cast members.
